I have been a resarcher in particle physics from 1979 to 2020. I participated to the experiments UA1 and ALEPH at CERN, then BaBar at SLAC, then a small contribution to LHCb at CERN and finally the construction of CTA (Cerenkov Telescop array) until I retire on july 1rst, 2020.

I have been interested in astronomy since I was a child but I only bought my first telescope in 2008 and started astrophotography in 2010. Although I use Pixinsight, I like to make simple pictures without too sophisticated treatment, ie LRVB or (LHa)RVB, no heavily saturated colors and no use of Photoshop. I like also black and white pictures.

I moved to astrobin only recently and I am in the process of transferring my best past years pictures there (at a rate of one or two pictures every day).

I am also interested in chess. I am currently president of the Annecy chess club and I have been organizing the Vaujany International Chess Festival since 2010 till now.
