Astronomy for me is all about having fun, built my own 14" Dob and never stopped looking up since that day, but if i'm honest i would admit to being a better engineer than astronomer, astrophotography can be made to look so easy with some of the images produced on here, but in truth it takes great skill/knowledge/creativity/dedication as well a shed load of money :)
As a recovering Alcoholic since 2008, astronomy/AP being mainly a night time hobbie! has helped keep my mind focused during the harder times, I also now have the memory of a goldfish! so every time i setup to image, I admit i have to look on stellarium to find a target and to know what the main stars are called again.
To sum it up! I luv getting out on a clear night in the garden and taking some images, right through to processing and even printing the image, nothing hubble like, but then hubble it not situated in my council estate with light polluted skies, plus a lot of things go on at night where I live, so you get a right good laugh when next door only gets back from the pub at 4am, and that's what i'm talking about! it's not just astronomy it's Life!
