I started astrophotography in the late 1990s using a film camera, but I soon realized that I did not want to go any further into film developing, hand paddle guiding, or modified cameras. The technology seemed inadequate at the time. After a 15 year hiatus, I resumed my journey into the cosmos in pixelated fashion with my first CCD camera purchase. From 2012-2017, I enjoyed imaging under the warm, dark skies of West Texas and sometimes New Mexico. In January 2018, I moved to upstate NY, and I could only image in the summer months at a dark sky site about 1 hour from my apartment. 2018-19 were tough times for my gallery here. Moving into a house at the edge of the suburbs in 2020 now allows me to acquire images from my own backyard for the first time ever, in a Bortle 4+ zone. I have been an Astrobin member since 2013 and I served as an IOTD reviewer in the 2021 cycle. My passion is LRGB imaging of galaxies that are less frequently seen, but I also enjoy imaging the popular targets for small telescopes to add some color to my gallery.
