In 2016 I retired from the US AirForce after 34 yrs of service. I was the Chief Meteorologist for the Air Force Reserve Hurricane Hunters. We are the ones who fly aircraft into Hurricanes and Tropical Storms to measure their strength in order to inform the US National Hurricane Center and public about the strength and structure of impending storms.
I began photographing the night sky in 2001 and have enjoyed this hobby immensely as it provides a way for us to see that we are just a speck on the cosmic scale. After retirement, I have been busy teaching PixInsight techniques at star parties across the SE and SW US and imaging from my backyard under a Bortle 5 Suburban sky
