Description

Two full nights of dark sky imaging combining 2 and 5 minute subs helped to bring out the dim Cave Nebula using a modified DSLR.  This was the first processing effort with WBPP 2.5 with integrated drizzle, though I upscaled the drizzle to 2; not sure I needed to do that as it now defaults to a scale of 1.  I'll repeat  WBPP 2.5 using the default drizzle scale of 1, though I did change the drop size to 0.85 and to kernel shape to Gaussian.  Taking cues from so many excellent astrophotographers on Astrobin, I am learning that less is more, meaning shooting fewer targets but capturing much more signal for a given target. At 11.5 hours of total integration, I am trying to wring what I can out of this DSLR setup before upgrading to a dedicated astro camera.

Title: Cave Nebula (no drizzle)

Description: Same WBPP settings, but used the undrizzled master and for some reason the colors were better and easier to work with, though the stars not as nice (zoomed in).
