Description

The past week, just after sunset, Venus and Mercury were visible together in the evening sky.

Accompanying collage gives an idea of the relative movement of both planets relative to each other during consecutive days.

Images were taken from May 18, 2020 to May 23, 2020 between 22:05 and 22:10 CEST with a Canon 6D camera + a Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L USM or Sigma 120-400mm f/4.5-5.6 AF APO DG OS HSM zoomlens used at a focal length of +/- 180 mm at f/5.6.

Only from the closest approach on May 22 is an image missing. Unfortunately, it was cloudy at that time here in Belgium.

Best to view at original resolution.
