Description

Out of interest I have overlayed 4 images of comet Leonard to show its movement over about a week. This is a mosaic of 4 images taken at intervals of 2 days. Moving from right to left the images were taken on 28/12/2021, 30/12/2021, 01/01/2022 and 03/01/2022. Each image is a stack of 21x30seconds lightly processed in Astro Pixel Processor 1.083 beta3. The composite image has been constructed using the nifty mosaic function in APP. The image shows the comet decreasing in size and magnitude across the period. Interesting that the tail is still prominent in the latest image. The weather meant it was a challenge  to find clear sky close to the horizon, so exposure totals are modest. You can also see some natural variation from sky quality across the 4 images and this also impacts the merge points throughout the mosaic.
