Description

This  image shows the sun rising behind the Cape Byron Lighthouse in Australia, the most easterly point on the mainland and the first location for spectators to see the light of a new day  (now that the nearby Mt Warning  has been permanently shut to visitors ... grrrrr  )

Sunspot regions 3140, 3141 and 3142 can be seen on the left side of the sun.

This is a still frame from a video taken with a ZWO ASI294MM Pro camera attached to my Saxon ED127 refractor with Baader Solar film on the front.

I was 5km away from the lighthouse and used Photopills to predict the shooting location and Google Earth and an XGPS-160 aircraft grade GPS to find that location on on the beach.

The monochrome RAW video frames were extracted as 3400 TIF images  from the .SER  video file, processed in Adobe Lightroom and re-assembled back into video using Adobe Premiere.
