Description

NGC 6960, also known as the Western Veil Nebula is the remnant from a supernova known as the Cygnus Loop and occurred about 10,000 years ago.  It is often referred to as the Witch’s Broom as its delicate filamentary structure resembles this memorable shape. The bright star near the center of the image, known as 52 Cygnus, is not associated with the supernova.
