Description

This is an interesting object in the Orion Nebula complex. Embedded in the molecular cloud complex of Orion is this nice little reflection region (lit up by V380 Orionis star). The dark T shape in the center is the "Keyhole" of this region. This dark region is not a dark nebula but rather an actual hole through the nebula by jets of other stars.

In addition, there are Herbig Haro objects (HH1 & HH2 - Jets from proto-stars) near the keyhole!

This is shot on equipment shared by Dhaval Brahmbhatt and myself at Marathon. While the nebula looks fine, the stars once again are the spoil sport in this image. At this point, I have let things be as is until I retool the image train at some point and not worry about the stars
