Description

I took all of these in one night - Sep 18, 2020. Not a night of great seeing, but it was the weekend, so I did not have to work the next day. These are in order of appearance.

I realized early on that seeing was not great, so it was all about the challenge of finding and videoing each world as I had the chance. With the C11 at 5600mm, I knew I would need a method to acquire the planets quickly. I mounted an unused 420mm refractor with the T5i on the top rail, and used it to plate solve my way to the ice giants Neptune and Uranus. It worked really well! There was no blind searching around hoping to accidentally stumble on these planets.

I made the classic mistake of not restricting the ROI on the camera, and so ended up with several 40GB files of a tiny blue and green dot. I filled my hard drive right up, and Windows started to complain, so I dumped the video files to a USB drive.

Not the best photos, but I achieved the goal of getting them all !
