Description

This image is made from the same data set as the previous version posted a few days ago. This version shows the content of all three filters, in particular the blue tones near the center of the nebula. The image was created using PI's PixelMath process and SHO equations posted by Juan on the PI forum. Each color channel was individually processed using BlurXTerminator to have the same median FWHM, then the O3 and S2 channels were Star Aligned against Ha. The Ha channel was used to LinearFit the O3 and S2 channels before applying the SHO equations with PixelMath. The RGB output image was stretched and its saturation increased. In order to bring out the blue content, it was necessary to use the Hue Adjustment of CurvesTransformation. I'm still not able to reproduce the gorgeous turquoise found in Hubble images and hope to find the key soon.

This image was made with an OSC, the ASI2600MC. If you pixel-peek you'll find some issues, but overall I hope this image encourages everyone with an OSC to give narrow-band a try. The results are fascinating.
