Description

We finally got a couple of clear nights around the new moon, so I took the opportunity to try to shoot LDN1320, part of the filamentary nebula surrounding Polaris. I've done this region previously with my 135mm lens, but wanted to get a bit of a closer look with my little 60mm refractor. This was shot over two nights with my Canon 600D riding atop my CEM40. Guiding around Polaris is difficult, so I rotated the guidescope about 30-degrees in declination and guided off a star there.

I ended up with 325 120-second light frames at ISO800. Bortle-3 skies. Calibrated with 30 each darks, flats, and dark flats. Calibrated/stacked in APP with final processing in StarnetV2 and GIMP.

C&C welcome and appreciated!
