Description

Here are Bode's (M81) and Cigar (M82) Galaxies. The image is an LHaRGB composition. (Actually, the Ha data was partly mixed with the luminance and the red layer). No IFN visible from my Bortle 7 sky, unfortunately.

It seems that the strange spikes around bright stars is due to my ES ED127 not liking very cold weather. The patterns were very apparent at around -20°C, but almost disappeared on another night at around 0°C. Maybe some kind of stress on the lenses caused by the contraction of the metal ring? Hoping to confirm the problem disappears completely in warmer nights this spring. If it's the case maybe there is something I can adjust in the cell to make these patterns go away in colder nights...

Thanks for looking and clear skies!
