Description

The mountains surrounding the east of Mare Imbrium (latin for "sea of the rains"). From north to south: Montes Alpes, 280 km long, peaking between 1800 and 2400 mts; Montes Caucasus, 445 km long, peaking at 6000 mts, and Montes Appenninus, 600 km long, peaking around 4000 mts.

Also visible the following large craters (from north to south): Plato, Aristoteles, Eudoxus, Cassini, Aristillus, Autolycus, Archimedes, and Manilius.
