Description

Yesterday on the drive back from work I noticed an unexpected clear sky. Rushed dinner, whilst checking the IR satellite images, which showed a thick high cloud cover. Still visually the sky looked clear. Dragged out the equipment, which went faster than normal because I´d prepared some new cable layout. Still the new cable routing screwed up my meridian flip, as I discovered only when I returned from a walk with the dog later that night. Cables are perfect now, I'm prepared for the next session!

I returned to this image, because my first session on the target showed micro-lensing on eta Gem. Hadn´t seen that on other bright stars before. Also this session showed the effect, but less. Not visible in the individual frames, but the stack shows the effect.

In processing, after inspecting the frames, it showed the IR satellite hadn´t been wrong, much much noise. So I decided to add my frames of January 8th to the stack. Previous session was a different composition, so the final stack is a too tightly cropped on the target. My first try with starnet+ and re-composition that I'm reasonably happy with. Still learning here.
