Description

This is an image of the Moon’s southern highlands. The large crater at the lower left is Clavius, the second largest crater on the visible side of the Moon. Above it and slightly to the right is the crater Tycho (it has a prominent shadow of the crater wall in the image), the source of one of the largest ray systems on the Moon.
