Description

Reprocessing M1 data from 01.01.2022, found that the hazy conditions were mostly towards the end of the session, now used 60 minutes with FWHM in the range 2.0-2.5". Stacking with Siril 1.0.0 (2x Drizzle), then Fitswork 2x resize, histogram work, noise filter, final stretching and gamma 0.95 to show as many structures near the crab pulsar as possbile.
The pulsar is the blueish, a bit diamond-shape star in the middle. Assuming North (N) to be upside on the image:
- pulsar shape a bit elongated north-south in the image, matching the N/S jet directions
- cloudy structures N, glow effects from pulsar activation (?)
- nodal structure S, where one of the reddish tubes (SSW to NNE) hits the S pulsar jet; when zooming in that tube structure seems to collimate onto that node
- the S pulsar jet is known form earlier animations to be bent to SSE direction, maybe from the interaction with that reddish tube (?)
Always hard to sort out artifacts, but from comparison with earlier images (own, others) I'm quite sure that there is this SSW to NNE tubular structure, and it seems to somehow interact with the southern pulsar jet, resulting in a tornado-like structure.
