Description

Jupiter in the morning hours of Tue 14 Apr 2020 AEST.

Absolutely spectacular seeing on the coldest morning so far this year. With temperature hovering barely above 1 degree according to AutoStar handbox I had a very steady half hour imaging run between 4:38 and 5:04 am Canberra time. Eventually light fog rolled in and transparency plummeted but with my anti dew heater running at full setting I was able to protect the scope.

The image combines 9,299 best frames from seven 80s stacks. Total WinJUPOS derotation period of 9 minutes covering UTC time range of 18:38 - 18:47 hours. Nice detail on view throughout both polar regions and the equatorial zone. These are the longitudes immediately preceding (east of) the GRS region.
