Description

This was my first real go with the ASIAir Pro. I shot this over two nights. It was incredibly easy to set up and get going. I used the built in polar align function, which I'm not sure works great with the RST-135, since its home position is due west, and requires you to aim the telescope at Polaris before you can run the alignment routine. It still got me pretty close, but I found the Polemaster was a lot more accurate for this setup. The latest version of the software on ASIAir Pro has autofocus, and I managed to use that set to re-focus every two hours. Even the meridian flip was pretty flawless, as all the default settings worked. I would have had more integration time, but the first night got hung up at frame 100 because I neglected to change the default settle timeout value for dithering from 99999 seconds to 30 seconds, and it just sat there waiting to settle for some reason. Other than that, my only wish is that you could save default settings. Most settings are saved, but a few are not, and I find it annoying that you have to double check everything before each run.
