Description

Sometimes Star Align in PixInsight can't make six pairs of stars and shuts down, stopping the whole mosaic building process. I had this problem with the M104 data. Today I used my trusty workhorse, Registar, and got the equivalent of "mosaic 1" and "mosaic 2". I then ran those through Merge Mosaic in PI and got a seamless mosaic.

M104 is located 28 million light-years away in the constellation Virgo, and with a mass equal to 800 billion suns, it is one of the most massive objects in the Virgo galaxy cluster.

Two panel mosaic from SDSS DR12 Science Archive Server (SAS)

Data from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey.

Color Mapped:
Red - r
Green - g
Blue - g

Processed with FITS Liberator, PixInsight, Registar and Photoshop 2023.
