Description

End or an era! Or a camera, at least. This was the final target I imaged with my DSLR before upgrading to the ASI533MC-Pro. As I post this, I have several other images from the DSLR that are in the queue to process; open clusters are quick processes so I wanted to pop this online. I'd been experimenting with 30s exposures to see if I could get sharper stars, and it seems to have worked alright.

This open cluster is known by a myriad of fanciful names. and while Owl or Dragonfly sound more dignified, I can definitely see the resemblence to ET.

After three years of service, the 600D now moves on join my recently-retired Skyguider Pro and will eventually be part of a more portable setup for ultra-wide imaging.
