Description

M46 and M47 are located east of Sirius. The planetary nebula NGC 2438 is actually located within M46.

Regarding the fact that I use a stock DSLR and the unfavourable moon phase, I was a bit surprised to find the planetary nebula Minkowski 1-18 in the image as faint, red bubble (below M46).
