Abell 29 is located in the southern skies in the Pyxis Constellation and is about 3600 LY from Earth.  Stellarium states its magnitude to be 18.35. The outer rim has a strong layer of Hydrogen and the inner section is stronger in Oxygen.

The blue progenitor star can just barely be spotted to the right of the central star if you zoom in.
