Description

Posting my first run at data acquisition on the Horsehead nebula in mid-March, as this object starts to sink in the horizon. Data is from a Bortle 9/10 zone in the heart of downtown Milwaukee, and has mostly been unguided due to troubles acquiring stars again from my mini guide scope after a few frozen over nights. So, since I'll likely start fresh, I'm posting where I'm at for now. The dog ear in the right corner is due to combining vertical and horizontal positioning.

I use an Omega Optical 2" Duo filter (95%T NPB DGM Skyglow). Specs: Central Wavelength 494 nominal, To pass 480 to 510 nm, as well as 656 nm, Typical transmission >90%, Blocking OD 3 typical of interfering light.

For this capture, it's a stack of 96min via Vixen ED81swt, on an EQ6r-Pro, via ASIair pro.

7min - 60s (7 x 1 min)

44min - 120s (22 x 2 min)

45min - 180s (15 x 3 min)
