Description

Same processing as the North American Nebula.  With all this color from the Dynamic Combination method there is a lot to work with.  So I tried two different 3 dimensional Look Up Tables (3D LUTs) for color variations.

A 3D LUT is a 3-way (RGB) Table that transforms one RGB value to another based upon a 1:1 correspondence in the Table.  The Table can be manipulated in many ways that go beyond what we do in astrophotography.  It is widely used in Cinema where it can give a whole film a certain "Look".

The final LUT chosen has the reds hyped up a bit... it is used as a Photoshop Plug-in that creates a layer that can be blended as much as you want or mask-blended to selected parts of the image.  These two are in at 50% over the entire image.
