Description

I noticed the nebulosity of NGC 6820 while steering the telescope across this area with Stellarium. I was so fascinated by the nebulosity that it didn't even realize that there was also an embedded open cluster, NGC 6823. I took two images of this field, each with a different exposure length. This first image, a stack of shorter 30-second exposures, looks better to me because the stars are not as overexposed. A faint satellite crossed the field during one of the exposures, leaving a vertical trail across this image. If anyone knows how to identify this faint satellite, please leave a comment! It passed through the field on 2019-09-24 between approximately 03:36 and 03:41 UT.
