Description

I managed to cobble together 7hours though cloud on Barnard's galaxy to complete the mosaic with Sh2-63.   After an entire day post-processing, I have finally given up and present here my least bad image. [I have a rule - life is too short to spend longer on post-processing than acquiistion] .

I had a feeling that "less would be more" when I posted Sh2-63 image on its own, since I suspected I wouldn't be able to match adding the Barnard's galaxy pane would only detract from it.   I was right.

Nevertheless, Barnard's galaxy on its own is pretty unispriring, and the two DSOs together do help to give a better sense of the IGM  in this region.

I did push the histogram stretch further than I normally would, to reveal the clouds in this region a little more. There is a more subdued version for those that prefer a less stretched version.

Note to self, don't try an LRGB mosaic under vastly variable conditions on two faint DSOs in the presence of substantial galactic fluff ever again.
