Description

NGC 5529 is an edge-on intermediate spiral galaxy in the constellation Boötes. It is located approximately 144 million light-years away.

The size of the galaxy is about 6,2 x 0,8 arcmin. Its is interesting how the right end of the galaxy is warped downwards very likely by the galaxy PGC 50925!

The real length of NGC 5529 is 250.000 Lj almost twice our Milky Way!

South of the center of the Galaxy is a brighter Star. Beside this is a small blue patch called Kregel B at 19th mag. There should be a star bridge to NGC 5529. In this picture it cannot be seen at all!

This was the first picture after 3 weeks of rain! I thought rainy season is only in tropical areas!!??
