Description

Can you spot the teddy bear? You'll note the two eyes as the first main features, followed by the shape of the ears and a body trailing below with a bright belly button. The eye region features pillars of gas stimulated by the solar wind of the large stars nearby. The Teddy Bear Nebula, or SH2-171, is an emission nebula and part of a larger formation of NGC 7822, a young star forming complex in the constellation of Cepheus, located about 3,000 light years away.

This first revision I'll post is a rough first pass at processing out green from a OSC with the l-Extreme dual band filter applied. It uses data from the ZWO ASI 533MC Pro, at gain 100, for 26hr, 40min integration time. The second revision, in progress, takes a more selective batch from the frames, under 24hr of data, and will combine G and B channels for more simulated control over narrowband data with a OSC, so will post up when ready soon - could use any other tips you see to, to try for revision 2!

The photograph was taken on a x0.7 reduced Vixen AX103s triplet APO with a built in flattener lens, which is roughly a 640mm FL when shooting with the ZWO 533MC Pro. I've learned a lot from processing green out of One-Shot-Color camera, with a Bayer matrix of RGGB, which I hope to apply to other images in the future.
