Description

I missed the closest approach on 3 April, but a lovely, if bright, night following allowing me to capture Venus dallying with the Pleiades. Imaged using my DSI-II OSC attached to Pentax zoom lens at 120mm. The bright halo / reflection around Venus is a shame, all but impossible to prevent under these bright conditions. The lens was at f11 hence the bright diffraction spikes from the mechanical iris.

Description: Something has been bugging me about this image, apart from the obvious internal reflection from the lens/iris. We are so used to seeing the Pleiades grace our winter skies, such that it is sometimes called the 'little dipper' by some - herewith, reorientated with North at the top.
