Description

IC2118 or Witch's Head Nebula
It is a very faint reflection nebula, about 1000 light-years distant from us.
It is located in the constellation Orion, slightly east of the star Rigel, which illuminates this nebula with its light.
Most likely, it is a supernova remnant, but stars have been found in the structure of the nebula that indicate possible star formation processes.
Due to the fact that the nebula is very dim, it is not possible to observe it visually.
I collected the material for this amount in December-January, 2020. The cumulative accumulation was about 40 hours.
Equipment Takahashi FSQ-85 + Canon 6Da.
