Description

This is 3 nights worth of data (just over 7 hours of images), catching targets as they are available from my driveway using HSO filters.  I processed a SHO (Hubble Palette)  and the more traditional HOO.  The HOO image captures a little more nebulosity in and around the nebula, but also has a lot more noise in the background, which I decided to leave to capture more details, oh the sacrifices you make, LOL.  I am pretty happy with both of these images, but this is a pretty easy target.  I had captured this last year with my 81mm and 294 one shot color camera, amazing how much more detail you get with more aperture and a better camera.

The Medusa Nebula (NGC2174) is about 1,370 light years away and about 16 light years across and is located in the constellation Orion.  It is an emission nebula consisting heavily of Hydrogen gases.  The OIII filters picks up quite a bit of data and the Su gets a very small amount, therefore, I did not take many Su images.
