Description

Some fun last night. Orion is one of the most difficult nebulae to photograph. Its core is possibly the brightest nebula in the sky. But it is surrounded by faint nebulosity. To get both one must combine short exposures with long exposures. The long exposures completely blowout the bright core. The short exposures don't capture the faint areas. By combining them in photoshop and masking out the over exposed bright core with the short exposure data you get this...

This is a combination is 20 10-second, 20 30-second, 20 300-second and 8 600-second images.
