Description

My first narrowband image! Target is NGC 7822 (Sh2-171) which is located in the constellation of Cepheus towards the North. This nebula contains structures which are similar to the "pillars of creation" from M16, The Eagle Nebula. This target has a weak OIII emission which required longer integration time to capture.

I used a 50/50 combination of a typical SHO and ForaxX SHO palette which results in this beautiful burnt orange and blue colour scheme, with just a hint of some green/turquoise. Although this monochrome data took longer to process compared to my one-shot colour camera, it was actually easier to process due to the extremely clean data, I'm very impressed with this camera and filters. With the QHY268M I used Readout Mode #1, with Gain 56 and Offset 25.

Back focus was in the right ball park, but not 100% correct. Next step is to fine tune this and get stars in the corners looking nice and round!

Revision B
I used the same data as the original version but made some minor proessing changes. This version includes the use of BlurXterminator during the deconvolution step, better framing of the target, and a better balance of the colour palette so it's more tri-colour than bi-colour. I much prefer this version as the gold yellow highlights the Sulphur data and adds more depth to the image.
