Description

This is a 4-panel mosaic of the Flaming Star region, and includes the Flaming Star nebula (IC405), the Tadpoles Nebula (IC410), and the Spider and Fly nebulas (IC417 and NGC1931, respectively). The frame also captures M38 the Starfish Cluster (NGC 1912), and a small open cluster NGC 1907.

I wanted to have much more integration time, but alas the weather took a turn for the worse and didn't recover until this object became impractical to shoot from my location. O3 is extremely weak in all but the Tadpoles nebula, and could easily use 3-4 times the integration time I was able to achieve. I finally decided to do the best I could with what I had on hand, and commit to adding more time next fall. This was an ambitious project undertaken near the end of the season.

There was a gear change about halfway through, so the data is roughly split between both scopes. The total time for each filter should be divided by 4 to determine time for each panel.
