Description

My aim was to show structure and an impression for light radiating from the inside. I realise this may require more data or even better equipment than mine.

Yet, here are things I can improve:
  • I lost the red color along the way. There should be more red, especially on the outside.
  • The nebulosity got washed away.

Image Processing Log in PixInsight:
  1. Dynamic Crop.
  2. RGBWorkingSpace.
  3. AutomaticBackgroundExtractor.
  4. BackgroundNeutralization.
  5. PhotometricColorCalibration.
  6. Deconvolution on Luminance.
  7. TGVDenoise
  8. МultiscaleMedianTransform on Chrominance.
  9. МultiscaleMedianTransform on Luminance.
  10. Manual HistogramTransformation.
  11. Correct greens with SCDNR.
  12. ACDNR.
  13. Separate stars and nebula with StarNet++, then use CloneStamp to correct artifacts.
  14. LocalHistogramEqualization on nebula.
  15. 2x CurvesTransformation on nebula.
  16. MultiscaleLinearTransform on nebula to bring out details.
  17. UnsharpMask on nebula.
  18. Reduce stars with MorphologicalTransformation.
  19. Extract nebula Luminance and use HistogramTransformation to push shadows to the right.
  20. Bring everything together in PixelMath using: stars + (0.1*luminance + nebula). This is my naïve attempt for a light-from-inside effect. There must be a better way.

Advice is appreciated.
