Acquisition type: Lucky imaging

Continuing my imaging of Venus during the 2019-2020 evening apparition. Venus was 62% illuminated in this image.

I've been trying a number of filters to see what gives the best results for me. This image was taken using a 685nm IR pass filter. I also tried my Celestron Mars filter which gave similar results to the IR pass filter, maybe even a bit less onion ringing. I have a W47 violet filter on order to try and capture a bit of UV and see if I can tease out some cloud details without going all out on a U Venus UV filter....

Imaged with a C8 Evo, ZWO ADC, Baader 685 nm IR pass filter, and ZWO ASI224MC. Imaging train was configured to give me ~F/20. Image capture using Firecapture with gain set at 225 and an exposure of 0.1ms. Stacking in AutoStakkert3 (best 20% of ~270000 frames captured over 180 seconds). Color balancing and Wavelet sharpening in Registax6. Derotated and combined six images in WinJUPOS.

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
Promotions by Submitters When 3 distinct Submitters promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for Top Pick status. This requirement, in addition to anonymization of images and distribution to only a subset of them, prevents biases and ensures that the best images are selected.
