Description

i am not entirely satisfied with this image and have been struggling with it for a month but I have have collected a huge amount of data on othere objects from PixelSkies and feel its time to move onto something  else.  I found Sh2-173 to be  particularly challenging - possibly becasuse it it is embedded in a very dense star field. That made it difficult to get the balance of stars vs. nebula in a way that I liked. I finally settled on this, which demphasizes the stars in a fairly aggressive manner. When  Starnet 2 became available recently, I found that it create a better starless image than the original starnet. It captured the really large stars that the original starnet missed. After processing the starless image I added back the stars in Pixel Math at a 65% rate.  I'll probly come back to this image at some future time but now,as I said, I need to work on something new. Any feedback on how to improve it would be greatly appreciated.
