Description

This is the same image as the previous one to the right of this image. Only difference is the application of the Star Reduction tool in PixnSight. I believe the nebula stands out more as the starry background has been deminished signficantly. An added bonus is the slight darkening of the nebula. The dust lanes in the "propeller" have much more detail as do some other areas within the nebulosity, giving it a slight 3D effect. I was happy that the open cluster was preserved along with some of the brighter stars. This tool was very effective in reducing the star bloat giving them a more pinpoint effect. The round airy disc bubblely stars don't look natural and really annoy me. Thanks Mike for the link to the tutorial!
