Description

Messier 89 (also known as M89 or NGC 4552), an elliptical galaxy almost exactly circular, and Messier 90 (also known as M90 or NGC 4569), an intermediate spiral galaxy exhibiting a weak inner ring structure, are two galaxy of the Virgo Cluster located about 50 and 60 million light-years away, respectively, in the constellation Virgo. They were both discovered by Charles Messier in 1781.
