Description

My first attempt at the Pacman Nebula. I wouldn't consider it bright, but I can see live stacking fluorescence on my scope. For this image, I integrated 6 live stacks of 120, 120, 120, 120, 121 and 150 frames with 2 second exposures. Seeing conditions were average, ClearSky was 3/5. Images were aligned (Star Alignment) and integrated (Image Integration) in Pixinsight. Minimal cropping was necessary since I de-rotated camera between stacks. DBE to remove light pollution gradients, although the DGM Optics NBP worked well by itself. I used PhotoMetric Color Calibration to obtain true color. Then removed background luminance and chrominance with MLT (grey luminance mask first), stretched the image with Screen Transfer and Histogram functions, with final adjustments made with Curves.
