Description

With poor seeing conditions recently, Gemini offered an interesting alternative target for a wider field image. This image at 200mm in my Pentax zoom lens just about shows the jelly fish nebula IC 443, a supernova remnant beside the bright star propus, and the faint nebulosity SH2-249. M35 NGC 2158 is visible at the top right side of the image.

This region definitely warrants longer integration and deeper exposures to bring out these nebulae; each DSO demands longer focal length to bring out the details under better seeing.

Captured with my Altair 183c OSC and L-eNhance filter (2x2 binning) in Nebulosity with PHD2 dithering. Unfortunately I lost the flats which I took using ATP flatsAid, and I need to increase my dither with these short focal lengths.
