Description

During a brief window of clear weather last night (9/15/23), I took this image of the "Apple-core Nebula," a beautiful planetary nebula found within the constellation of Vulpecula. At its core is a stellar corpse know as a white dwarf, which is just visible as a bluish star at the center. This celestial jewel is more than 1300 light years away and was imaged with my C14 telescope / ASI071 camera combo operating at f/7. The image is a stack of 280 15 sec images, taken over a period of 70 minutes.
