Description

Awhile back, Kevin Wagner from the Unistellar USA group over on Facebook suggested that he and I combine all of our images of NGC2359, the Thor's Helmet / Duck / Baby Yoda Nebula. Kevin had 5 PNG images for a total exposure time of around 5 hours. I had around 280 minutes (4260 x 3.97-second subs) of raw FITS data. In addition, I threw in eleven 20-minute PNG's for another 220 minutes, though these PNG's were duplicates of some of the raw data. All told, between 10 and 13 hours of effective exposure time, depending on how you calculate it. I processed this in Pixinsight as a mosaic, cropped, noise reduction (NoiseXTerminator), photometric color calibration, deconvolution (sharpening), slightly tightened the stars and some final touch-ups to the color. Filters: L-eNhance and L-eXtreme. Unistellar eV-1.  The mosaic was assembled in May of 2022.
