NGC 2359 (également connue sous le nom de nébuleuse du casque de thor et Gum 4) c’est une nébuleuse d'émission située dans la constellation Grand Chien (canis major).

Au centre de la nébuleuse se trouve une étoile Wolf-Rayet très chaude, qui illumine la nébuleuse en ionisant son hydrogène

Cette dernière serait principalement responsable de la formation de la nébuleuse, composée du gaz expulsé par l'étoile elle-même.

Premier traitement avec ma nouvelle caméra QHY268M
Content du résultat pour sa première utilisation, une bonne résolution avec des étoiles assez fines, malgré une cible assez basse dans l'hémisphère nord. C'est une nébuleuse qui me donnait envie depuis un moment malgré sa difficulté avec une hauteur fortement soumise aux turbulences atmosphériques.

Thor's Helmet.

NGC 2359 (also known as Thor's Helmet Nebula and Gum 4) is an emission nebula located in the constellation Canis Major.At the center of the nebula is a very hot Wolf-Rayet star, which illuminates it, exciting its hydrogen and ionizing it.The latter would be mainly responsible for the formation of the nebula, composed of the gas expelled by the star itself.

SHO stars

Really happy with the result for its first use, good resolution with fairly fine stars, despite a fairly low target in the northern hemisphere. It's a nebula that made me want for a while despite its difficulty with a height strongly subject to atmospheric turbulence.
