Description

This is some data from the New Horizons Multicolor Visible Imaging Camera (MVIC) as the spacecraft made its flyby approach of Pluto, pictured here on July 14th, 2015. Each exposure per filter is blistering fast at 0.595 seconds. I took approximately red, green, and blue calibrated frames from the NH archive to create a color image in Pixinsight, and then did many iterations of CurvesTransformation to get the colors more accurate.

The observation id's are as follows:
nh-mvic-mc0_0299178092 (green)
nh-mvic-mc1_0299178092 (blue)
nh-mvic-mc3_0299178092 (red)

I encourage people to look at spacecraft data and process it using any skills learned from amateur astrophotography!
