Description

Messier 20, the Trifid Nebula,  is an unusual combination of emission nebula (pink), reflection nebula (blue) and dark nebula causing the emission nebula to appear divided into three.  It is about 4,100 lightyears from Earth in the constellation of Sagitarius.
