Description

NGC 2841 - Tigers Eye Galaxy

An unbarred spiral galaxy in the constellation of Ursa Major, 46 million light years distant.   This is a unique spiral galaxy in that its arms are tightly wound,  patchy and discontinuous.

Taken with an RC8 at 1625mm fl, this galaxy appears small, as 46 million ly is a very long way away.    The big bright stars in the image are a lot closer to us and most likely located within the Milky Way.

While the RC8 is still not 100% perfect in its collomation, I do feel I'm getting closer with each attempt.

Very happy with this.

Cheers!
