Description

Barnard 3, IC 348, and others in Taurus. Part of the wider region known as the Taurus Molecular Cloud that is situated between the California Nebula and The Pleiades (M 45). Also located in this image are:
- LBN 749/758/601
- LDN 1470/1472/1468
- PGC 2016086/1921731/1926831

To me, the coolest part about this image is that the hydrogen alpha emission appears to sit behind the dark dust of Barnard 3. The bright reflection nebula of IC 348 gives some awesome contrast to the image and the reflection nebulae spread up the image.

Total exposure time: Just over 24 hours in LRGB, taken from the Dark Sky Observatory near Fort Davis, TX.
